Accomodations > Hotels

Participants must reserve and pay for their own hotel rooms. (Reservation and payment for the student residence is via the BIFD registration.)

You can reserve a hotel by any means you wish.

Some hotels with negotiated prices are listed on the website below:

Here is some information to help you in selecting a hotel:

The conference venue is Ecoles des Mines (see map), next to the Luxembourg Gardens, located at the metro/bus/RER station called Luxembourg.

Nearby neighborhoods might be called Latin Quarter, Montparnasse, Odeon, Saint Germain.
Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements. The Ecole des Mines is at the boundary of the 5th and 6th arrondissements. Other arrondissements which offer convenient access to the conference venue are 1,2,3,4,13,14.

Hotels in Paris are available in many different price ranges, say from 80 euros to 300 euros. Many hotels in Paris have a small number (5-20) of rooms, especially those in the neighborhood of the conference venue. The number of stars has an objective meaning; two or three stars is what many visitors may want.

In addition to Google Maps, an excellent website http://www.ratp.fr/ describes public transportation in Paris and is available in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, and Japanese. If you go to http://www.ratp.fr/itineraires/en/ratp/recherche-avancee
you can enter the address of a prospective hotel and Luxembourg (RER) as the endpoints of a trip, and the site will find you an itinerary via public transportation for the time and date you specify.
